[Pharmacological activities] |
1. Sedative, analgesic and anti-inflammatory: Subcutaneous injection or intraperitoneal injection of Jiegu water extract 0.34, 0.68 and 1.36g/kg to mice can confront strychnine or caffeine-induced convulsions reaction. Intraperitoneal injection of 0.35 or 2.70g/kg Jiegu water extract to rat can significantly inhibit dextran or carrageenan-induced paw edema [1]. 2. Diuretic and anti-virus: Jiegu had significant diuretic effect and can inhibit encephalitis virus and brain myocarditis virus [2]. 3. Lower lipids: Intragastric administration of Jiegu fruit oil 4g/kg for 2 weeks can significantly lower TC, LDL and AI in normal rat, markedly decrease TC, TG, LDL-C and AI in hyperlipidemia model mice, significantly increase the ratio of HDL-C and TC, reduce AI, the effect was better than Maitong [3]. 4. Anti-cancer: Intragastric administration of Jiegu fruit oil 2g/kg can inhibit the growth of S180 and H22 (P<0.005) showed that Jiegu fruit oil had a certain effect of anti-cancer [4]. 5. Impact on mice memory: Intragastric administration of Jiegu fruit oil to mice for 8 days can improve learning and memory disorder and memory retrieval barriers, indicated that it can improve learning and memory capability and the improvement effect was equal to or superior to Naofukang [5]. 6. Others: Intragastric administration of Jiegu fruit oil, one time every day, 3 days in a row, can strongly stimulate proliferation of lymphocyte transformation in normal mice, showed that Jiegu fruit oil had protective immune function [6]. 5 triterpenoid aglycone compounds derived from 60% Jiegu alcoho extract, included betulin (1), betulinicacid (2), oleanolicacid (3), ursolicacid (4), α-amyrin (5), also got two sterols compounds, stigmasterol (6) and sitosterol-3-glucoside (7). Compounds 1-3 were the first time extracted from Jiegu, compounds 1 and 2 can promote the proliferation of osteoblasts in rat, compound 1 can promote the activity of UMR106 cell alkaline phosphatase [7]. Seven phenolic compounds isolated from Jiegu for the first time, they were vanillin (Ⅰ), acetovanillone (Ⅱ), coniferylaldehyde (Ⅲ), syringaldehyde (Ⅳ), 4-hydroxybenzoicacid (Ⅴ), 4-hydroxycinnamicacid (Ⅵ) and protocatechuicacid (Ⅶ), compound Ⅳ can promote the proliferation and differentiation of UMR106 at the same time, compound Ⅰ and Ⅲ can promote cell proliferation and compound Ⅴ and Ⅶ can improve the activity of cell alkaline phosphatase [8]. |
