1. Uterus stimulant: The experimental results indicatethat the decoction of Chinese drugs Leonurus sibiricus has stimulating actionon the uterus of mouse in vitro. The stimulating action of Leonurus sibiricushas been found related to stimulating H1-receptor and α-adrenergicreceptor of uterus[[3].Theexcitement of the role of the uterus may be through the change some andelectrical activity of the ion concentration, make starting cells and actionpotential to strengthen activity caused by polarization speed up rats and micein vivo and vitro uterine smooth muscle [2].

2.Herba leonuri (HL) is a famous Chinese traditionalmedicine with long history. Recent studies have shown that the effects of HLare versatile. In addition to its activating effect on blood flow which hasbeen widely used in gynecological and obstetrical disorders, HL has beendemonstrated to have beneficial effects on ischemic diseases includingmyocardial infarction (MI). Experimental studies have shown that HL amelioratedmyocardial ischemia, increased coronary blood flow, and improved heartfunctions. The underlying mechanism is proved to be its antioxidant effectsincluding scavenging free radicals and inhibiting the formation of reactiveoxygen species in ischemic myocardium. The antioxidant effects of HL areexerted only under the condition of oxidative stress. A significantangiogenesis promoting effect is also counted for its cardioprotectiveeffects[3].

3.Inhibit blood platelet congregating :Clinic trials alsoindicated that HL could inhibit blood platelet congregating, resistcoagulation, restrain thrombosis, and improve hemorheology in patients withcoronary heart diseases[3].

4. Immunomodulatory: During recent years, with deepening study of domestic and foreignscholars,in the body immunity, polysaccharide and diterpene and other activeingredients of leonurus heterophyllus sweet, improve the normal immune, andpromote pathological outcomes by promoting cellular and humoral immunefunctionn, improving and enhancing the role of the lymphatic circulation.Clinical trials proved that it has a better effect on the treatment of immuneinfertility, allergic purpura, purpura nephritis, urticaria, excessive solar ultravioletradiation-induced skin diseases[4].

5. Renal :motherwortdid no harm to kidney, but it could leadto light inflammation and little fibroplastic proliferation in renalinterstice, and fatty renal tubules;with the increasing dosage, the pathogenicchange aggravated. The results suggested that motherwort could do harm to renaltubules and interstice[5].

6. Exceted respiratory center: Leonurine may make respiratory centerexciting directly[6].

7.Leonurus and its compound preparation have markedlyinhibited action on the construction of isolated smooth muscle leading byoxytocin[7].

8. Others: Motherwort appeared to be an effective drug intreating ischemic ARF in animal experiment, and the authors suggest that it maybe used in clinical practice[8].

[Clinical trial]

1. Acne: Yimucaomianmofor treatment of Acne 78cases.2times per week,4 weeks as one course of treatment,result:40 cases werecured ,24 cases were improve,12 cases were effective ,2cases were invalid, thecure rate was 97.5%[1].

2. Urticaria: Yimucao oralmedication (Drying product  30 g was extractedby boiling water for 2 times to take, 1 time per morning and night, 2 weeks asone period of treatment) and external wash (Drying product 120 g was extractedby water for 2 h, adding water to 3000 ml, boiling for 15 min, bath body aftercool) ,urticaria were treated in 30 cases, one time per day. Result: 25 cases werecured, 5 cases were effective[2] .
