1. Erythrina variegata extracts could improve the serum Ca level and inhibite the urinary Ca excretion in ovariectomized rats, and this might be due to the up-regulation on VDR mRNA expression in duodenum and CaBP-9k mRNA expression in kidney, which show Erythrina variegata could maintain Ca homeostasis in ovariectomized rats[1]. 2. The Erythrina variegata L. extract shows obvious anti-tumor effect on various tumor cells, and in the in vivo experiment, it exhibited significant anti-tumor effect[2]. 3. The aqueous extracts of six kinds of Erythrina variegata L. exhibit certain pharmacological actions including antibacterial, sedation, spasmolysis and analgesia[3]. |
