1 Anti-cancer: The IC50 of anti-cancer activecomponents of Fig Residues on U937, 95D and AGS cells were 70.125 μg·mL-1,127.957 μg·mL-1,116.000 μg·mL-1; The anti-cancer activecomponents of Fig Residues inhibited 49.3% of the transplanted liver cancer inthe mice. The anti-tumor effect of FCPS might relevent to increasing theactivity of SOD GSH-PX and decreasing the levels of MDA in S 180 -bearing mice[1]. FE has cytotoxicity on some human lung cancer cells, but little effect onnormal cells at the certain concentration, and its mechanism of activity mightbe associated with the inhibition of apoptosis of cancer cells [2]. FFL hascytotoxicity on some human cancer cells, but little effect on normal cells atcertain concentration, and its mechanism of activity might be associated withthe inhibition of DNA synthesis of cancer cells, induction apoptosis and cellcycle arrest of cancer cells [3,4]. 2 Immunologic function: Fig Residues could enhanceimmunologic function of tumor-loading mice. Polysaccharide of Ficus caricapossesses action of immunologic enhancement [5]. FCPS can significantly enhanceresponse of DTH in cyclophosphamide intoxicated mice and mice under stress.FCPS could enhance immunofunction of immunodeficient mice [6]. FCPS possesses immunologicenhancement [7]. 3 Anti-fatigue and Hypoxia tolerance: low dosagegroup (0.22g/kg), median dosage group (0.67g/kg)and high dosage group (2g/kg)ofthe water extract of Ficus carica, perfusing them into the stomach for 5 weeks, observe the swimming time of the control group and the different dosage groupsto make sure the anti-fatigue effect of the water extract of Ficus carica [8]The water extract of ficus has the effect of anti-fatigue,its changes may beinfluenced through increasing tNOS and cNOS in serum. fig water extract ofdifferent concentrations (0.22, 2.166, 7 and 200 mg/ml respectively for thefour groups) was given into the rats’ stomach for a continuous 30 days Figwater extract is proved to have anti-fatigue and hypoxia tolerance function onrats [9]. 4 Antimutagenic effects: The water extract of ficus carica could decrease thefrequncy of micronuclei induced by CP in mice peripheral lymphocytes within thedosage 50-200mg/ml (P<0.05) [10]. 5 Analgesic activity: Ficus carica have been found to haveanalgesic activity [11]. 6 Antioxidant activity: Ficus carica have stronger antioxidant capability [12]. 7 Laxative effects: Ficuscarica made as the food aperients [11]. 8 The others: Hypotension ficus carica possessed a considerablehypotensive action [13]. 9 Toxicity: Rats injected milk of immaturatefruit (0.02 m1), or home rabbit (0.05 m1), can make the animal immediate death. The anatomy is visible for damage internal capillary; Intraperitoneal injectionalso get similar results; Subcutaneous injection can cause local tissuenecrosis; Oral is non-toxic [14, 15]. |

[Clinical trial] | Wuhuaguo (fig) 1. Condyloma acuminate: take the fresh wuhuaguo (fig) milk liquidinunction on the warts and basement department (avoid normal skin as far aspossible) and take a hip bath with radix sophorae flavescentis soup. 5 minuteslater could see the verrucous body congestion edema, with minor aches anditching, application after herbal fumigation, the symptom is reduced, no scarleft. Results: 21 cases of acuteness wet wart, 4days cured 5 cases, 5 days cured7 cases, 6 days cured 8 cases and 7days cured 1 case [1] 2. Hemorrhoids: 7 grains of wuhuaguo (fig) add right amount ofhoney, steaming with slow fire and then take it. 7 days a course. Results:Among the 30 patients 20 were cured, 8 were markedly improved, 2 cases invalid, the total effective rate was 93.3% [2]. 3. Children diarrhea: zuoshupi(oak bark)50g, wuhuaguo 7 grains, soak in boiling water and fume the soles with the steam, soaked the feet in the medicine juice and elution the knee-joint and the belowpart until the temperature fall to 30℃ or so, twice a day and 7days for aperiod of treatment. Treat 136 pediatric patients with diarrhea. Results: 105patients were cured after 4 days treatment, 26 were obviously improved after 6days treatment, 5 cases invalid. [3] 4. Chronic superficial gastritis: The treatment group use weichangshudecoction (dangsen (codonopsis pilosula), ganjiang (rhizome zingiberis), chaobaishao(fried radix paeoniae alba), wuhuaguo (fig) etc.), 1 agent every day, 15 daysfor a course of treatment. The control group use SanJiu WeiTai electuary, twicea day. Both groups take 2-5 courses. Results: The effective rate of treatmentgroup was obviously superior to the control group [4] |
