1. Preventing fluoride toxicity: the food supplemented with calcium can reduce the effect of high fluorine, and the food supplemented with both calcium and Celosia Cristata extracts is better[1]. 2. The water extract of Celosia Cristata could enhance immune function of mice[2]. 3. Celosia cristata has the obvious haemostatic effect and its haemostatic mechanism is related to its rich content of Ca2+ and Vitamin C[3,4]. 4. Celosia cristata has the anti-aging effect on mice induced by D-galactose[5]. 5. Celosia cristata could strengthen the mouse endurance and increase the deposit of muscle glycogen and hepatic glycogen[6]. 6. Atheroslerosis: The ethanol extract of Celosia cristata possesses the actions of lowing lipids and MDA and may prevent fatty liver[7,8]. 7. The water extract of Celosia cristata exhibits a killing effect on Trichomonas vaginalis[9]. 8. Celosia cristata injection exhibits obvious effect of inducing abortion in second trimester on pregnant mice, guinea pig and rabbit[10]. |

| [Clinical trial] | 1. Leukorrheal diseases due to heat-toxicity: jiguanhua (Cockscomb Flower) mixture in treating several hundred patients, all obtained remarkable curative effect. Oral prescription ( carbon red jiguanhua (Cockscomb Flower) 30g, fried gluten white jiguanhua(Cockscomb Flower) 30g, baizhu(Atractylodes macrocephala koidz) 20g, baijiangcao(Patrinia) 20g , pugongying(Mongolian Dandelion Herb)20g, yuxing cao(Heartleaf Houttuynia Herb)20g, chishao ( red Herba Peony)10g ,baitouweng(the root of Chinese pulsatilla )20g, gualou(snakegourd fruit) 20g ); the external prescription ( sheng white jiguanhua (Cockscomb Flower)50g,shechuanzi(Common Cnidium Fruit) 30g , yaozhuxiao(Paniculate Swallowwort Root) 20g)for washing vulvar , 1 agent daily).Results showed that it had good effect after 3～5 agent generally [1]. |
