1 Antitumor activities: Smilax glabra Roxb made the pathologicalchanges of liver cancer decreasing, and the areas appears reducing [1].

2 Receptor antagonistaction: Smilax glabra Roxb increasedthe Vmax, APA and prolonged APD of normal action potentials at concentration(50 mgL-1,100 mgL^-1). Smi decreased the Vmax, APA and shortened APDof repolarization of the slow action potentials induced by Iso in guinea pigpapillary muscles superfused with K+ rich Tyrode solution (27 mmolL^-1)at concentration(2, 10, 50 mgL^-1). But no effect of this action onthe slow action potentials induced by CaCl₂ (3 mmolL^-1).The action of Pro (2 molL^-1) were similar to those of Smilax glabra Roxb. Smilax glabra Roxb may havereceptor antagonist action [2].

3Resolving toxin of gossypol: Smilax glabra Roxb water extracts had antagonistic acute and subacutegossypol poisoning effects [3].

1. Cerebral cysticercosis accompany high cranial pressure: 100 cases of patients were treated with 100g Tufuling, which were boiled with water and taken 3~4 times a day. Results showed that 51 cases had significant effects, 45 cases' condition had improved, four cases were invalid^[1].

2. Cluster headache and migraine syndrome: 65 cases of patients were treated with Tufuling decoction(60～120g Tufuling and 10g Tianma), 40 cases were cured, 12 cases had significant effects, eight cases had effects. Another report were showed that 72 cases were treated with 90~120g of Tufuling and got the overall effective rate of 92.9%^[3].

3. Chronic prostatitis: 60 cases of patients were treated with Tufuling decoction( consist of Tufuling, Liangqiao, Difuzi, etc), one prescription a day, 14 days as one course of treatment. Herbs were boiled three times, the first and second times were for oral, and the third time were for half hour's hipbath. Two~three course of treatment were employed. During the treatment, no spicy foods were taken. Results showed that after three course, 28 cases were cured, 31 cases' condition had improved, the effective rate was 98.33%^[4].

4. Acute pelvic inflammation: 37 cases of patients were treated with Fufang Tufuling decoction(consist of Tufuling, Jinyinhua, Yejuhua, etc) and the effective rate was 97%^[5].

5. Chronic pyelonephritis: 78 cases of patients were treated with Yinhuatufuling decoction(consist of Yinhua, Tufuling, Liangqiao, etc), 55 cases were cured, 20 cases had effects, three cases were invalid, the overall effective rate was 96.16%^[6].

6. Chronic urticaria: 42 cases of patients were treated with Qufengjiedu granule, once a day, 26g for each time. The effective rate was 83.33%^[7].

7. Psoriasis: 40 cases of patients were treated with Tufuling mixture(consist of Tufuling, Zhuling and Zhexie), three times a day, 10~20ml for each time, a month as one course of treatment. Results showed that 20 cases were cured, 12 cases had significant effects, the overall effective rate was 95%^[8]. Another paper reported that 50 cases were treated with 60g Tufuling. Before the treatment, herbs were made powder and boiled with water, took one prescription a day, and drank twice, 15 prescription as one course of treatment. Results showed that 25 cases were cured, 14 case had significant effects, the overall effective rate was 92%. No toxic and side effects were found during treatments^[9]. 

8. Verruca vulgaris: Patients were treated with Tufuling mixture(consist of 50g Tufuling, 30g Shengdi, 15g Kushen, etc), one prescription a day and boiled with water, drank four time. With this treatment, mild patients could cured after a week, severe one could cured after two weeks^[10].

9. Herpes zoster: Patients were treated with Tufulingdahuang decoction(consist of 120g Tufuling, 30g of Dahuang, Yinghua and Lianqiao, 10g of Huangliang, Shengdi and Huangbo). Treatment was proved to have good effect with raid and reliable results^[11].

10. Pemphigus: 32 cases of patients were treated with Jiedulishi decoction(consist of Yinhua, Pugongying, Diding, Tufuling, etc), all cases were cured with at least three prescriptions and 12 at most, the average was 5～6 prescriptions^[12].  

11. External genitalia ulcer: 56 cases of patients were treated with Jiequfu decotion(consist of 60g of Zaoxiu, Tufuling and Kushen, 45g of Huangbo and Dahuang). Herbs were boiled with water and filtrated to clean the external genitalia, one prescription a day, cleaning twice a day, 30 min for each time. Results showed that all cases were cured after 7~14 prescriptions' treatment, the average was seven prescriptions^[13].

12. Gonorrhoea: patients were treated with Tufulingshecaochidou decoction(consist of Tufuling, Baihuasheshecao, Yimucao, Chixiaodou, etc) and the effective rate was 90%^[14]. Another report showed that external application of Tufuling decociton(consist of Tufuling, Baimaogen, Lianqiaoke, etc), one prescription a day, boiled with water and drank twice, patients could cured after 3~5 days' treatment^[15].

13.Ulcerative colitis:50 cases of patients were treated with Tufuling mixture, twice a day, 5~7 days as one course of treatment, most of cases had effects during the first course. The overall effective rate was 98%^[16].

14. Diarrhoea: 193 cases of patients were treated with Tufumeizhu decoction(consist of 18g Tufuling, 8g Wumei and 12g Baizhu). Results showed that 182 cases were cured, nine cases' condition had improved. Drugs were taken at least one prescriptions and 13 at most^[17].

15. Effusion of knee joint: 10 cases of patients were treated with Shentongzhuyu decoction(derive from Wang Qingren' prescription), dosage of Tufuling were increased to 30~120g in this prescription. Patients were treated with 20~100 prescriptions. Results showed that all cases had good effects^[18].
