1.Anticancer: Water extract show anti-tumor effect on fleshy tumor S180, Ehrlich ascites tumor[1,2]. Asparagus normal juice show cytotoxic on LA795, CNE, Hela and Eca109 cell line in vitro[3]. It can inhibit portability cancer of cervix and hepatocarcinoma on mice model[4]. 2.Effect on Immune Function: Asparagus shoots or juice can improve thymus index[5]. Its polysaccharides and glucosides extract can raise peritoneal macrophage phagocytosis activity[8]. Low dose juice can promote peripheral blood T lymphocyte transformation[3]. 3. Reducing Blood Lipid: Asparagus shoots and juice show reducing total cholesterol, diacylglycerol, lipoprotein activity on hyperlipidemia mice model[9]. 4.Other Effects: Asparagus still has immune enhancement and hepatoprotection activity[10-12]. Its crude saponin show inhibitory action on some fungi such as candida, Cryptococcus and so on[13]. |
