1.The effect on Cardiovascular: Water extract can significant heighten guinea pigs cardi- coronary artery flow rate in ex vivo, increase the hypoxia tolerance in mice. It can protect acute myocardial ischemia in rat induce by pituitrin. heighten anesthesia rabbits cerebral blood flow, decrease cerebrovascular resistance and blood pressure[1]. Kudingcha total saponins(KDC-TS) can agonistic ex vivo rabbits vasoconstriction induced by Noradrenaline and CaCl2 but not potassium chloride[2]. 2.Lowering blood pressure: intravenous injection extraction can significant lower the anesthesia dog, vessel of kidney type hypertensive rat and spontaneously hypertensive rats blood pressure[3]. 3. Anti-oxidant: It has anti-lipid peroxidation on hepatic tissue in mice and rats[4,5]. 4. Reducing blood lipid: Water extract can cut down total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein in hyperlipidemia rat model[6]. 5. Bacteriostasis and Antiinflammatory: Extract can obviously raise survival rate in infection mice model induce escherichia coli, bacillus dysenteriae, bacillus pneumoniae, streptococcus[7]. Volatile oil and water extract show anti-inflammatory on mice swelling of ear and capillary permeability model[8]. 6. Anti Fatigue and stress:water solution has improving the action of hypoxia tolerance, hypothermia tolerance and sports tolerance in the mouse[9]. 7. Enhancement Immune Function:water extract can improve macrophages cytophagic index and mouse antibody production level[10]. 8. Hypoglycemic:subcutaneous injections water solution can inhibit adrenalin induce hyperglycemia in rat[11]. 9. Antagonism Bronchial Smooth Muscle Constriction: Water solution has reverse effect to bronchial smooth muscle constriction induced by acetylcholine and histidine[12]. |

[Clinical trial] | 1. Hypertension: 70 quinquagenarian patients with I, II stage primary hypertension, randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group was treated with Leaf of Chinese Holly primary tea, every day 5 ~ 10 g, decoted or baked with water to drink. The control group was treated with nifedipine tablets, 10 mg one time, 2 times a day, after the blood pressurer lower then reduced to 10 mg once a day. After 2 months treatment observation, decompression effect in two groups were relatively good. Results:In the treatment group, 2 cases depressurized obviously, 18 cases depressurized moderately, 10 cases depressurized mildly, 5 cases had no change, the total effective rate was 85.71%. In the control group, 4 cases depressurized obviously, 22 cases depressurized moderately, 5 cases depressurized mildly, 4 cases had no change, the total effective rate was 88.57%. Curative effects of two groups were no significant difference (P > 0.05). At the same time, 35 cases in the treatment group, during the treatment process there were not found adverse effects and side effects of[1]. 2. Hyperlipidemia: 28 patients with hyperlipidemia were treated with the extractive of leaf of chinese holly, 40 mg every day, boiled with water and oraled after meals, 3 times a day, 8 weeks for a period of treatment. Determinated blood lipid after a course of. During the treatment all other cholesterol-lowering drugs stopped taking. Results: 19 cases were markedly improved, 3 cases were effective and 6 cases were effectiveness, the total effective rate was 78. 57%[2]. |
