[Pharmacological activities]

1.Anti-oxidant: Flavonoid compounds isolated fromthe root bark of Papermulberry has versatile capacity of free radicalscavenging[1]; a strong lipid anti-oxidation function on cerebralhomogenate of mice caused by Fe2+ [2].

Total flavonoids of Papermulberry has cellprotection role[3]; also have protective effects on cell oxidativedamaged by UVA [4].

2. Anti-platelet aggregation: Flavonoid compoundsisolated from the root bark of Papermulberry has significantly anti-plateletaggregation function ,which was induced by arachidonic acid [5].

3.anti-inflammation and anti-allergy: Flavanone derivative isolated from the root bark ofPapermulberry inhibit passive cutaneous anaphylaxis reaction and activity ofsecretory phospholipase A2 [6].

4.anti-aging: PapermulberryFruit has anti-Alzheimer's or delaying Alzheimer's role [7], andalso has effects on promoting learning and improve memory [8].

5. anti-microbial: Flavanone derivative separatedfrom the root bark of Papermulberry have antibacterial and cytotoxic activities[9].
