[Pharmacological activities]	1. Lacvigata michx polysaccharide had some antimicrobial activities, for example, to Escherichi coli, Salmonella.paratyphi, Staphy lococcus cremoris and so on, and also had some anti-inflammatory activities^[1]. 2. Fructus Rosa Laevigata can decrease serum glucose and triglyceride levels in NewZealand white rabbit^[2]. 3. Rosa Laevigata Mickx has distinctive effect on anti-oxidation. It could significantly scavenge superoxide anion, inhibit murine erythrocyte hemoyisis and lipid peroxidation in mouse liver homogenate^[3] 4. Rosa Laevigata Mickx can protect kidney of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The mechanism may be partly mediated by inhibit ing TGF-β1 and type Ⅳcollagen overexpression in kidney^[4]. The water extract of Rosa laevigata can decrease the frequency, prolong the interval of urination, increase the quantity of eacn urination, inhibit the automatic contraction of isolated rabbit jejunal smooth muscle and antagonize the spasmodic contraction aroused by acetylcholine and barium chloride of isolated rabbit jejunal smooth muscle, and isolated vesical smooth muscle of mouse, and antagonize reaction of contractility aroused by noradrenalin on isolated thoracic aorta strips of rabbit^[5]. 5. Polysaccharide from Rosa laevigata michx can enhance the immune reaction in mouse and has immune modulation function^[6].
[Clinical trial]	1. Older incontinence：24 cases patients were treated with Jinyingzi(Cherokee Rose Fruit) docotion. Results showed that 14 cases had significant effect, accounting for 58%；7 cases had effect, accounting for 29%；3 cases were invalid, accounting for 13%. The overall effective rate was 87%^[1]。 2. Chronic recalcitrant diarrhea： Jinyingzi(Cherokee Rose Fruit)binglan(Semen Arecae)docotion：Jinyingzi (Cherokee Rose Fruit) 45g, Binglan(Semen Arecae) 3g, Zhishi(Fructus Aurantii Immaturus)3g, Wuzhuy (Evodia rutaecarpa) 6g, Buguzhi(Malaytea Scurfpea Fruit) 9g. Two weeks as one course of treatment. Results showed thati in 50 cases of the treatment group, 34 cases patients were cured,9 cases had Signifi- cant effect, 4 had effect,3 cases were invalid, the Clinical cure rate was 68%,the overall effective rate was 94% ^[2]。 3. Nocturnal enuresis：Jinyingzi(Cherokee Rose Fruit)binglan(Semen Arecae) granules, match with acupuncture. 15 days as one course of treatment. After treated with one course of treatment . Results showed 129 cases patients were cured,3 cases improved,4 cases were invalid,The overall effective rate was 97.61% ^[3]。
