1. Effects on the cardiovascular system: (1) Influence on hemodynamic: intravenous injection of racemic Pd-Ia to anesthetized dogs increase coronary blood flow (CBF), lower artery blood pressure (AP), maximum rising rate of left ventricular systolic pressure (dp/dt max), myocardial oxygen consumption, heart rate and peripheral vascular resistance and cardiac output volume, etc,with dose-dependent manner.These effects are similar to diltiazem (dil). Intravenous injection of Pd-Ia 3mg / kg was significantly greater than dil 1mg / kg to produce value of the maximum increase in CBF. However, reducing the strength of effect on the AP and the myocardial oxygen consumption is only equivalent to dil 1/10. Intravenous Peucedanum praeruptorum of anesthetized open-chest cats can increase coronary sinus flow, decrease carotid arterial blood pressure, reduce coronary resistance and myocardial oxygen consumption, and improve the ability of mouse myocardial 86 Rb cell uptake, suggesting that increased myocardial nutrition blood flow and also increased coronary flow of isolated rabbit hearts, reduced myocardial contractility and slow heart rate mildly [1]. (2) Anti-arrhythmic effect: Intravenous Peucedanum praeruptorum water alcohol extract to rats by crude drug 1g/kg significantly prevent and treat the barium chloride-induced arrhythmias, which enables to shorten arrhythmia duration, or immediately to stop the arrhythmia, and blood pressure, maximum rising rate of Myocardial contraction and heart rate also reduce in short-term [2]. ventricular arrhythmias caused by Ligation of the left coronary artery can significantly reduce the onset of the extent and duration, and 100% of the total attack rate in the control group drop to 70% [3]. Intravenous injection of Pd-Ia by crude drug 2g/kg have a preventive effect on rat arrhythmia induced by aconitine , so that 88% of the ventricular tachycardia converted to normal rhythm [1]. (3) Effects on heart: Right-handed praeruptorin C (Pd-III) Intraperitoneal injection 15mg/kg in rats, twice a day for three days in a row, which can improve ischemia and reperfusion of the isolated heart contraction and relaxation, and promote cardiac output, coronary flow and heart rate recovery to improve the work efficiency of the heart, to reduce the release of creatine kinase and cardiac mitochondrial calcium content, indicating a protective effect on cardiac ischemia[3]. Pd-III can significantly inhibit the guinea pig isolated atrium of self-regulation and calcium chloride positive frequency effect.The IC50 the which inhibit left ventricular contractility is 40μmol/L, shorten the functional refractory period, show non-competitive inhibition on quite rate of isoproterenol. Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the Pd-III treatment for 14 days, myocardial compliance has improved to some extent [4]. Guinea pig left atrial contraction inhibited by concentration-dependention of Pd-III and a ladder phenomenon was noncompetitive inhibition of calcium chloride and depolarization of high potassium induced rabbit aortic contraction, which can inhibit contraction of extracellular calcium induced by the 5-hydroxytryptamine. Pd-III inhibition of vascular and inhibition of the heart of the IC50 ratio is 1: 8, which related to cardiovascular inhibition may block calcium channels, and calcium influx of voltage-dependent calcium ion channel are mostly affected[5].. Pd-III significantly inhibited free calcium Ca2+ increase of rat ventricular myocytes induced by the calcium chloride,high potassium, and calcium channel agonist Bay K8644 ,which are dose-effect relationship, and Ca2+ increase caused by the former Gpoisonous hairs bindweed had no significant effect, suggesting that the role of the Pd-III reducing Ca2+ of cardiac myocyte was related to inhibition of voltage-sensitive calcium channels [6]. Pd ether extract can influence acetylcholine and histamine on the isolated guinea pig ileum contraction by non-competitive antagonist, the strongest effect of the Pd-Ia antagonist acetyl choline, and can inhibit the guinea pig colon calcium influx [7] . Pd-Ia dose-dependent shorten in guinea pig ventricular action potential duration (APD), which APD20 and APD50  of 10μmol/L after perfusion, respectively, reduced by 123 ms and 145 ms to 114 ms and 138 ms [1]. Pd-Ia 1μmol/L, 10 μmol/L, 100μmol/L allows the peak of guinea pig single ventricular myocyte calcium current to smaller with dose-dependent manner, suggesting that the Pd-Ia can block the calcium channel[8].. (4) Vasodilator:Pd injection have dose-dependent inhbition on canine coronary contraction of potassium chloride-induced ,and inhibition of potassium chloride or norepinephrine-induced rabbit aortic contraction also have the same effect [1]. Intravenous of coarse crystalline of Peucedanum water-soluble agents - methanol extract (Pd-MC) to anesthetized cats of 6.25mg/kg or 12.5mg/kg can increase the coronary sinus flow for 15 minutes or more, which 12.5mg/kg can increase coronary sinus flow by 19.58%; intravenous injection of another water-soluble formulations, n-butanol extract (the Pd-BE), can increase the coronary sinus flow, the systolic blood pressure and decrease pulse pressure [9].. The Pd decoction and petroleum ether extracts show relaxant effect on isolated rabbit pulmonary artery rings, and can reduce the contractile response of pulmonary arterial rings caused by norepinephrine or potassium chloride, but also petroleum ether extract shift The dose-response curve of the pulmonary artery of the norepinephrine contraction by non-parallel right, depress the maximum effect,and the pD2 value was 4.73 ± 0.43. (5)Effects on platelet aggregation: purple Peucedanum glycosides and nodakenetin showed significant anti-aggregation on primary and secondary platelet aggregation caused by adenosine diphosphate (ADP). Peucedanum decursivum and flowers Peucedanum Peucedanum ether extract and ethyl acetate extracts, the inhibition of ADP-induced platelet aggregation compared with water, butanol or hexane extract were stronger. Pd-Ia and purple decursin have against-promotion on primary platelet aggregation [10].

2. Anti-Cancer: Praeruptorin C (Pra-C) concentrations of 10 to 30mg/L can cause apoptosis in HL-60 tumor cells, and the degree of apoptosis increases with the Pra-C concentration. Pra-C induced HL-60 cell apoptosis and cleaved into caspase-3 with caspase-9 and related to other caspase enzymes,which can activate the effect of apoptosis, so that the cell structure is destroyed [11]. Pra-C can reverse multidrug resistance of tumor cells, and the Pra-C can reverse the drug-resistant strains of human cervical carcinoma cell  resistant to doxorubicin, paclitaxel, puromycin, vinblastine drug ,and can also increase doxorubicin factors such as drug accumulation in tumor cells and inhibit tumor cell proliferation by down-regulating tumor cell P-glycoprotein expression and reduceing intracellular ATP,which is a good potential tumor resistance regulator [12].

3. Expectorant: The Peucedanum decursivum have strong expectorant effect. Decoction of 1g/kg were administered to anesthetized cats, which can significantly increase airway mucus secretion, lasting for 6-7 hours or more [13].

4. Others: Pd-Ia, purple decursin C-II , the Pd-C-III and Pd-C-Ⅳ can inhibit rat mast cell histamine releasing induced by concanavalin A and phosphatidylserine. Its IC50 values were 79μmol/L, 100 μmol/L, 102μmol/L and 73μmol/L. This function is related to calcium influx of its block mast cell [14]..Pd petroleum ether extract can inhibit isolated rabbit tracheal smooth muscle induced by acetylcholine and potassium chloride, and dose-effect curve of contraction of tracheal smooth muscle by acetylcholine shift to the right, the maximum response depression [15]. Pd volatile oil have a strong inhibition on growth of Staphylococcus aureus in vitro , also has a certain degree of inhibition on E. coli [16].

1.Chronic bronchitis acute infection: Self –made QianhuYuxingcaotang (Qianhu 12 g, Yuxingcao30g,Pugongying 30g, Shegan 9g, Cangezi 9g,Xingren 9g, Taoren 9g,Dilong 9 g, Zhigancao6 g.  that were extracted by boiling waterto take, l agent per day, 7 days as a period of treatment,that of hot was addedand subtract what add Huangqi,Shengshigao ;that of flustered and exasperated was added Sangbaipi, Zhimahuang;that of much sputum yellow was addedChuanbeimu, Rizhuhuang, Xuanzhuli, Gualouren; that of cough was added Zaojaioci;that hemoptysis added Xianhecao, Ceboye , tian sanqi, that edema edded Tinglizi,Cheqianzi) in the treatment of chronic bronchitis patients of acute infection in30 cases, that 23 cases were controled, 5 cases were markedly effective,better, invalid each l cases. Effective cases, cough asthma and other majorsymptoms in 1 -6 days significantly reduce, in average, 3 days, Heating in l -6days to return to normal, for an average of 2.5 days, I lung sound in 2 -14days was dissipation,in average 8 days. Four patients with edema person, except1 case invalid outside, the rest 3 cases were the edema in 3- 5 days disappear

2. Asthmadue to lung heat syndrome: Self-made qianhutang, time of taking medicine theshortest  was 3 days, the longest was 14days. Results : 18 cases were cured, 14 cases were powerfully , 12 cases wereeffective, 4 had no effect, the total effective rate was up to 91.7% .
