[Pharmacological activities] |
1. Ethanol extraction and total flavonoids isolated from Patycladi Cacumen have an anti-inflammatory effect[1,2]. 4. Relieving asthma: ethyl acetate extraction isolated from Platycladi Cacumen could relax isolated smooth muscle of mice and guinea pigs[4,5]. 5. The water extract from Platycladi Cacumen could obviously shorten the bleeding time of mouse and clotting time of rabbit[10-16]. 6. Sedative effect: The water extract from Platycladi Cacumen could obviously reduce the time of spontaneous activity of mouse and prolong the sleeping time induced by pentobarbital sodium[17]. 7. The water extract from Platycladi Cacumen could mildly reduce blood pressure of cat and has certain vessel-dilating effect on isolated perfused rabbit ear vessels[5,7]. 8. antibacterial action: The water extract from Platycladi Cacumen have the inhibiting effect on the growth of bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus, Catarrhal coccus, shigella dysenteriae, typhoid bacillus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, streptococcus, Bacillus anthracis and so on[5,7]. |

[Clinical trial] | 1. Recurrent aphthous ulcers: 160 cases were randomly divided into A and B group. Two group used alternately the cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf) paste and Bingpengsan in the 2 episode namely in the first episode, group B treated with Bingpengsan , group A with cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf) paste, in the second episode , group A with Bingpengsan, group B with cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf) paste. 4 times a day, did not use other drugs. Results showed that the first episode : in group A (80cases),40 cases were cured, 25 cases were markedly effective, 13 cases effective, the total effective rate was 97.5%; in group B ( 80 cases), 14 cases were cured, 21 cases were markedly effective, 32 cases effective, the total efficiency was 83.75%. The second episode: in group A (80cases), 18 cases were cured, 20 cases were markedly effective, 31 cases effective, the total effective rate was 86.25%; in group B (80cases), 44 cases were cured, 25 cases were markedly effective, 10 cases effective, the total efficiency was 98.75%[1]. 2.Herpes zoster: fresh cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf) mash mixed with egg white paste, coated on the affected area, approximately 1cm thick. 2 times daily. Results showed that 18 cases were cured, 12 cases were cured in 3 ~ 6 days, 6 cases were cured in 7 ~ 8days; 2 cases were markedly effective. The efficiency was 95.2%[2]. 3. Burns : Compound cebai carbon ointment in Treating 57 cases of burn, Results showed that 57 cases were cured, the curative time is the shortest for 5 days, the longest 18, the curative rate was 100%[3]. 4.cervical erosion : cebai powder for external use in treating 608 cases of cervical erosion. Results showed that all the cases were all effective, the curative rates were respectively 73.85%, 93.59% and 100% after 2, 3, and 6 months of treatment. the curative rates of light, medium, severe degree were respectively 96.7%、80.35%and0 after 2 months of treatment; the curative rates of light, medium, severe degree were respectively 100%, 95.09% and 75% after 3 months of treatment; all cases were cured after 6 months of treatment [4]. 5. sweat herpes: 20 cases were treated with cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf) Decoction ( cebaiye(Chinese Arborvitae Branch and Leaf)30g, digupi(cortex lycii radicis) 20g, yinhua((Honeysuckle Flower)20g, tougucao (phryma leptostachya)20g , aiye(folium artemisiae argyi )20g, gancao (radix glycyrrhizae) 20g.If had Itch ,added baixianpi(Dictamni Cortex )20g, Fangfeng(radix sileris)20g;If had more sweat, added mingfang and gegen(Lobed Kudzuvine Root)20g ) .5 agent as 1 courses.
