Anti-ulcer effect: Formating serosal gastric ulcer model by injecting acetic acid into rat, Mexican Tea Herb - water floral contents can significantly reduce the ulcer index, nitric oxide (NO) and gastric epidermal growth factor (EGF ), and increase the positive expression cells of the ulcer edge tissuesuggesting that Mexican Tea Herb - water floral contents can promote ulcer healing by promoting the secretion of gastric mucosa protection cytokines, such as NO, EGF, and increasing gastric epithelial cell growth factor receptor levels [1].

Anti-parasitic effect: The piperazine citrate prime which mainly contained in Mexican Tea Herb oil can make the roundworm first excited and then paralysis, can produce irreversible tonic discharge; it also has a weak effect on amoebic dysentery, hookworm and tapeworm [2]. Piperazine citrate factors 1μmol/L has a strong inhibitory effect against falciparum; 0.01μmol/L can also  inhibit the growth and development of trophozoite [3].

Antibacterial effect: Mexican Tea Herb has a mild inhibitory effect on the bird Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vivo; fungi such as Trichophyton has good inhibitory effect, its intensity is weaker than thymol and stronger than salicylic acid [4, 5].

 
[Clinical trial]

Clinical reseach:
1. Tinea cruris: Chenopodii Ambrosioidis Herba 60 g (or fresh Chenopodii Ambrosioidis Herba 100g), decoted with water, and sitz bath for 10 ~ 15 min twice a day,
one prescription for 2 doses a day, 1 week for a period of treatment. After 3 period of treatment evaluate curatived effect. During treatment all cases stopped taking other antifungal drugs. 114 cases recived treatment , 93 cases cured, the total effective rate was 95.61%, fungi cleared in 105 cases, clearance rate was 92.11% [1].

2. Chronic gastritis: 76 cases were treated with “Jing Hua Wei Kang Capsule”(Chenopodii Ambrosioidis Herba and Adina pilulifera extract), 2 capsules one time, three times a day, During treatment all cases stopped taking gastric mucosa protection medicine more than 4 weeks. Rusult: The clinical symptoms were significantly improved, the effective rate was 88.2% [2].
