1. Neferine isolated from Nelumbinis Semen could decrease arterial pressure and have a direct vasodilative effect on anaesthetized and conscious normotensive rats, renal hypertensive rats and DOCA-salt hypertensive rats, and conscious rabbits[1]. 2. Neferine isolated from Nelumbinis Semen possesses anti-arrhythmic action, and its anti-arrhythmic action is relevant to the inhibttory effects on Na+, K+ ,Ca+2 currents of myocardium [2,3]. |

| [Clinical trial] | Insomnia：The treatment group (40 cases) was treated with Lianzi(Lotus Thalamous Seed) powder,the control group (40 cases) was treated with placebo(starch). Two groups were treated 30 days. Result showed that the overall effective rate was 82.5% and 42.5% respectively. Two group had significant difference (P<0.01) when compared each other [1]. |
