1Anti Tapeworms: A protease in Omphalia can kill beef/pork/ dog tapeworms though destroy tapeworms scolex, polypide cortical and tissues[1-6].

2Anti infusorian: Omphalia can kill infusorian stage at intestinal tract through make it granulation[7,8].

3Effect on lumbricus and hookworms: 50% ethanol extract can inhibit Ascaris suum in vitro and Omphalia powder show cure effect on ancylostomiasis in vivo[9,10].

4Immune Enhancement: Omphalia polysaccharides has obviously anti-inflammatory in differen animal model through promote release of adrenal cortex hormone or prohibit it metabolism.In addition, it can improve mice phagocytize function in reticuloendothelial system and humoral immune function[11].

5Anticancer: Protease can inhibit mice fleshy tumor and inhibition ratio from 33.3% to 69.3%[12]. Omphalia extract show inhibit effect on HepG2 cell in vitro and U14 ascites carcinoma in mice[13,14].

Leiwan (stone-like omphalia)

1. Infantile ascariasis:Leiwan (Omphalia) enteric capsule, 0.5g pergrain. The diagnosed ascariasis children(83) were given 0.5g leiwan, 3 times aday, continuation take 3 days, recheck 7 days later, 67 cases were cured, 12cases were excellent, 4 cases were invalid. The cure rate was 80.7%, theeffective rate was 95%. 56 cases were ejectmented ascaridesafter take the medicine 2 days later [1].

2. Alopecia areata: grind the leiwan(Omphalia)into minuteness powder, cut the shengjiang(ginger) a flat piece, inunctionaffected part, cut the surface again, touch the leiwan(omphalia) powder withthe rest of the ginger and inunction the affected part for a moment, 2-3times aday, construe for 7-12 days and withdrawal, new hair grow slowly at localitypart. Treat 100 cases, the longest time was 12 days,anda total of 166 cases, the shortest time was 7 days, a total of 34cases. The cure rate was 98% [2].
